This class blends together great music, fun yoga sequences and hip swaying dance moves to create YogaDance. Get your groove on in this fun class that alternates between yoga warm-ups, standing and balancing poses and free form dance sections. We will end with cool down yoga poses and a brief relaxation. Yin Yoga is a practice that allows deep release within the body at the level of the bones, joints and connective tissues, such as fascia and ligaments. Poses will be targeted to work with the paths of the energetic
organ meridians that run through our bodies and will include the seven archetypal poses that exercise all of the joints and muscles of your body. Physical release of accumulated tension and patterns occurs through long holds in yoga poses and conscious relaxing of muscles in targeted areas of the body. Energetic healing and awareness comes through breath awareness and observation of sensations, thoughts and feelings.

This bi-monthly class will take you into a deeper state of relaxation. Kimberly and Betsy will use singing bowls and different instruments to create sounds that promote healing vibrations. When the body and mind are fully relaxed, this is when the body can truly heal and repair itself.

An introduction to Yoga for Healthy Aging with active practice of its basic components. What is aging and what are the components to healthy aging? Explore how yoga influences your healthy lifespan through asana, stress management and yoga philosophy. Learn about the four essential physical skills and yoga poses that support these abilities. We will sample some of the practices to illustrate the concepts. The class will close with questions and a restorative practice.
