Qoya dancing is movement with meaning, like an internal pilgrimage, and is based on the idea that through movement we remember. We remember our essence as women is wise, wild and free. Wise – borrowing from the ancient traditions of yoga. Wild – the magic and radiance that comes through creative expressions of dance. Free – expanding our capacity to have fun, be playful, and enjoy being in our bodies through feminine flow.  There is no way you can “do” Qoya “wrong.” The way we know we are doing it “right” is when it feels good. We focus less on how our movement “looks,” and more on how it feels in our bodies to move this way or that, adapting the movements as necessary. In Qoya we know that life is a dance, and everything we need for this journey is found within. Please wear clothes that you can move freely in, bring a yoga mat and some water. Prepare to have fun, to connect with others, and to be even more anchored to yourself as you leave.

About Lindsay:
Lindsay McKinnon is a Midwife of Souls, a Way Shower, and a Vessel for holistic healing. Through inspired action, she guides individuals and communities to connect, heal, and amplify their lives. As a Youth Minister she led retreats and pilgrimages to create personal encounters with Spirit through rituals, service opportunities, workshops and intentional conversations. As Massage Therapist, Bodyworker and Childbirth Doula for over twenty years, Lindsay passionately stands for the human spirit’s capacity for creation, for opening to expansion, for courageous acts of Love and Wonder.  As a Qoya Teacher she has lead retreats around the world, connecting women to their body-temples through movement, infusing ritual and ceremony into a celebration of the sacred feminine. Her writings and lectures offer both wisdom to soothe the aching soul, and empowerment to take action in our lives and communities. She is a Transformational Speaker and Coach, and helps people reach beyond what they have known to find deeper meaning in themselves, their relationships and communities.  Lindsay is the Founder of Soul Body Connect and believes whole heartedly that we can do the hard things with massive compassion, engaging life’s challenges to find a new and empowered rhythm that feeds the soul. Qoya is one very effective way of doing that. You can find Lindsay gathering with friends on her front porch for sunset, dancing anywhere, and marinating in the people, animals and landscapes wherever her wanderlust takes her.
