Advanced Yoga Teacher Training // 300 RYT
Yoga Alliance Registered // Two-Year Module-Based Program
The 300-hour Uttara Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is designed to build upon and deepen your understanding of the fundamental concepts of teaching. This training will enable you to teach with greater skill and confidence. You will explore more advanced techniques and principles of yoga while gaining a deeper understanding of anatomy, asana, Ayurveda, meditation and the subtler aspects of yoga so that you can share your passion more effectively.
In this comprehensive training, you will gain community and camaraderie during the weekend class hours along with the immersive retreat. You will be asked to dig deep and share generously. You will be asked to learn and grow in ways that help you to become more inspired and more inspiring. You will expand your skills to facilitate workshops and retreats. Your practice will deepen through applied practice and knowledge. You will be a better teacher and also a better student when you complete this amazing and demanding journey.
Program Launch Weekend: September 30-October 2
This program will unfold in modules and will include one five-day immersion retreat in June, 2017; these modules will be offered beginning September 30-October 2, 2016 and then approximately bi-monthly through 2018. In order to register with Yoga Alliance you will be required to complete all required modules and complete all contact hours with the required instructors.
Acceptance into this program requires proof of completion of a Yoga Alliance RYS 200-Hour Program; this does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Non-refundable Application Fee: $250.00
Per-module pricing; each module will range in price from $175 to $350 depending on the hours involved. Required immersion retreat price to be announced.
Program Expectations, Attendance Policy & Make-up
Upon acceptance into the program, you will complete ALL training hours as scheduled in order to receive your certificate of completion. There will be additional weekends scheduled so attendance at every weekend is not mandatory, but there are requirements for attendance with certain instructors. The scheduled training weekends are incredibly important, not only for your learning but also for the Yoga Alliance requirements of successful completion of 270 hours of contact time with instructors and 30 hours of non-contact time.
IF YOU ARE THE CERTIFICATION TRACK instead of the Yoga Alliance track the requirements will be more flexible.
Each student will also be held to a high standard of conduct, demonstrating respect for their peers and maintaining confidentiality for each person in the training. Failure to attend all required hours, or failure to complete all required work, means you will not receive a certificate of completion and not be eligible for the 300 hour Yoga Alliance RYT certification.
If you miss a session, you will be permitted to make up a maximum of five hours through extra reading and/or class observation. If you miss more than five hours of training you will have to pay $75 per hour for private instruction to make up the hours.
Cancellation, Withdrawal & Refund
No refunds are given. A credit may be applied to future trainings, but only in the case of illness or extreme circumstances.
Uttara Yoga offers a centrally located, beautiful learning space on the outskirts of downtown Roanoke. The location of the trainings will depend upon the number of registrants; we are planning for the majority of classes to be held at Uttara Yoga; there is the possibility some of the trainings will take place within a 30-minute drive of Roanoke with the exception of the mandatory retreat (location to be announced). We provide a Training Manual, worksheets, study guides, hand-outs and more.
You will be required to attend Sangha Sadhana meetings led by Jill Loftis; note these additional hours will be somewhat flexible but there will be a minimum number of hours of attendance.
